Version 1.4 has a few changes that have an affect on the installation. If you were using a previous version, note that the name has changed slightly. This means you need to rename the folder "Offline Files" to "Offline QWK Files" and make sure you remove the old external.
Couple of notes about Offline QWK:
* Read the docs. Most of it is obvious but issues such as which compression to use aren't necessarily.
* I didn't mark this version as a beta but it is still very much under development. It doesn't handle replies yet and may have a few other rough spots. I don't forsee any but let me know if you experience any problems.
* Offline QWK isn't really intended to be used locally (why would you want to) so if you try and test it in local mode there are a few things you need to be aware of. The most important is that as soon as a user logs off, all the files related to their qwk session are automatically deleted. This means if you want to create a QWK packet locally just to test the external you will have to move these files from their location in the "Node" folders inside the "Offline QWK Files" folder BEFORE you log off. For example if you are on node 3 you would need to move the BBSNAME.QWK (or the uncompressed version of the files CONTROL.DAT and MESSAGES.DAT) from the folder ":Hermes Files:Externals:Offline QWK Files:Node 3:" to somewhere else. Then you can fire up Freddie, Alice or one of the other Mac offline reader applications.
